IN THE LAIR OF HADES
For trumpet & piano

This four-scene play is loosely based on the myth of Orpheus.
Our hero, in search of his Dulcinea, approaches the gates of the Underworld and crosses the river Styx on Charon's boat.
On the other shore, he hears the sounds of a feast. He approaches. When he arrives, the spirits lead him in a frenzied dance.
At the end of his dance, he thinks of his beloved, whom he is searching for in vain.
Abandoning all hope of finding her, he returns to the world of the living and tries to drown his sorrows by partying.
